After years of hard work, it’s important to make time for yourself and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Keeping things new and interesting while in retirement can be difficult. Routines can become boring! Get creative and spice things up a bit! Our previous post about creative and fun things a retired couple can do was so popular, we decided to come up with even more retirement ideas!
From the words of Maya Angelou:
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
Sometimes it’s just a walk in the woods or a jog around the neighbourhood. You could spend an afternoon at home with a good book or a short road trip to get away from everything. You don’t need to plan something new each and every day either; you could plan one big trip or event each year to look forward to. For example, one year you could go camping, another year take a trip boating or you could plan one year to rent an RV and drive down the coast.
Begin by thinking about the kind of life you want to have in your retirement. Think about the activities, people, places, passions, and things that you would like to be doing. The most effective way to do this is to start by writing down the list of things that you’re passionate about and things that you’d like to do in your life.
To help you with your planning, we’ve compiled a list of 72 things to do in retirement:
